Rattlesnake Plant (Calathea Insignis)

  • Scientific name: Calathea Insignis
  • Origin: Nicaragua to Ecuador (Calathea is generally believed to have been first introduced to Hawaii in the early 1970's. Most Calatheas are native to the dim-lit South American rain forest surfaces)
  • The most commonly available Calatheas for indoor gardens are Calathea insignis - Rattlesnake Plant, Calathea makoyana - Peacock Plant, and Calathea zebrina - Zebra Plant.
* Please be aware that, as with any types of fabric, certain amounts of colour fading are to be expected if items are exposed to strong direct sunlight for extended periods of time, whether indoors or outdoors.
